DGFT Rolls Out Trade Connect Feature

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has issued Trade Notice No. 05/2025-26 dated 13 June 2025, expanding access to the ‘Source from India’ feature on the Trade Connect ePlatform for all Status Holder Exporters. This marks a pivotal step in strengthening India’s digital export footprint, aligning with the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat and Brand India goals.

What Is ‘Source from India’?

‘Source from India’ is a flagship digital feature within the Trade Connect ePlatform (www.trade.gov.in) that serves as a public showcase of verified Indian exporters, allowing foreign buyers to easily discover and contact reliable suppliers across various sectors.

This feature enables exporters to:

Create personalized micropages
Display product portfolios
Highlight business credentials
Gain visibility with foreign missions and buyers

What’s New in This Trade Notice?

Expanded Access: Previously available only to select Three-, Four-, and Five-Star Manufacturer Exporters on a pilot basis, the platform is now open to all Status Holders with valid IECs (not in DEL).

Micropage Hosting Now Public: Once approved, exporters’ profiles will be publicly accessible on the Source from India portal at https://www.trade.gov.in/pages/source-from-india.

Promotion via Indian Missions Abroad: All Indian Embassies and High Commissions have been sensitized to refer to this platform when foreign buyers approach them for sourcing assistance from India.

Guidelines and Support: An annexed guide provides step-by-step registration instructions, including how to link IECs and digitally sign the application for micropage creation.

Who Can Apply?

All Status Holder Exporters (as recognized by DGFT)
Must have a valid Importer Exporter Code (IEC)
IEC must not be under Denied Entities List (DEL)

Other IEC holders (non-status) may be included in later phases.

Step-by-Step Registration Guide

Login to Trade Connect (www.trade.gov.in) using DGFT credentials
Link your IEC to your account (if not already done)
Click on “My Exporter Showcase” in the dashboard
Enter export achievements and product details
Submit for approval
Once approved, your profile becomes live on the Source from India portal
