India Semiconductor Mission Launches ‘Investors Support’ Portal to Empower and Facilitate Semiconductor Investments

India is making significant strides in building a robust, trusted, and sustainable semiconductor ecosystem. The Ministry of Electronics & IT, through the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), has launched the ‘Investors Support’ portal, a major step to facilitate and empower investors and ecosystem players in the country’s rapidly growing semiconductor sector.

Strategic Push for Semiconductor Ecosystem

The Government of India has been proactive in developing the semiconductor industry through strategic initiatives and policy interventions. Under the Semicon India Programme, the country has already approved 12 fabrication (Fab) and packaging projects, along with 24 semiconductor design projects. These efforts are aimed at positioning India as a global hub for semiconductor manufacturing and innovation.

Introducing the ‘Investors Support’ Portal

Launched on May 26, 2026, the ‘Investors Support’ portal (https://www.ism.gov.in/investment) is designed to:

1. Provide Comprehensive Information
   • Access details on government schemes, policies, and approved projects under the Semicon India Programme.
   • Understand regulatory requirements and investment opportunities in the Indian semiconductor sector.
2. Facilitate Investor Grievance Redressal
   • Investors can register their concerns or grievances directly through the portal.
   • Issues are addressed by ISM officials in collaboration with nodal officers from relevant ministries, departments, state governments, project companies, and trade associations.
3. Enable Streamlined Coordination
   • The portal offers a secure, role-based, single-window digital interface.
   • Ensures efficient coordination and time-bound resolution of investor concerns.

• Single-Window Access: Investors and stakeholders can interact with all relevant government bodies and project companies through a unified digital platform.
• Transparency and Support: The portal enhances transparency in processes and provides handholding support to both domestic and foreign investors.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Nodal officers from ministries, state governments, and trade bodies are actively involved in resolving issues and facilitating investments.

Leadership Perspective

During the launch, Shri Amitesh Kumar Sinha, CEO of ISM, highlighted the importance of proactive facilitation for foreign investors. He called upon all stakeholders to actively participate in addressing investor concerns, further strengthening India’s semiconductor manufacturing and design ecosystem.

How the Portal Works

• Onboarding: Stakeholders are onboarded through a secure process, ensuring role-based access and data security.
• Functionality: The portal provides a walkthrough of its framework, functionalities, and coordination mechanisms.
• Resolution Mechanism: Grievances are routed to the appropriate nodal officers for swift and effective resolution.
