DGFT Notifies New SION A-3695 for Acetyl Salicylic Acid Tablets to Streamline Exports
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has introduced a significant update to the Foreign Trade Policy-2023. Through Public Notice No. 21/2025-26, dated 3rd September 2025, the DGFT has notified a new Standard Input Output Norm (SION) under the Chemical and Allied Product category (Product Code ‘A’). This update is set to simplify and expedite export processes for manufacturers and exporters of Acetyl Salicylic Acid 75 mg Film-coated Tablets.
Key Highlights of the Notification
- New SION Details:
- Export Product: Acetyl Salicylic Acid 75 mg Film-coated Tablets.
- Input Item: Acetyl Salicylic Acid.
- Input Quantity Allowed: 76.50 mg per tablet.
- Purpose of the Notification: The introduction of SION No. A-3695 ensures that Regional Authorities (RAs) can now issue Advance Authorisations directly for this export product. This eliminates the need for individual cases to be referred to the Norms Committee, thereby reducing delays and ensuring uniformity in the approval process.
- Impact on Exporters:
- Faster Approvals: Exporters can now obtain Advance Authorisations more quickly, enabling them to meet tight production and export schedules.
- Streamlined Processes: The notification standardizes the input-output norms, ensuring clarity and consistency across all applications.
- Boost to Chemical and Allied Product Exports: By simplifying procedures, this move is expected to encourage more exports in the Chemical and Allied Product category.
Why This Matters
Acetyl Salicylic Acid, commonly known as aspirin, is a widely used pharmaceutical product with significant demand in global markets. The new SION notification is a step forward in supporting Indian exporters in the pharmaceutical sector, aligning with the government’s vision to enhance ease of doing business and promote exports.
Conclusion
The DGFT’s proactive approach in notifying SION No. A-3695 reflects its commitment to facilitating trade and empowering exporters. This update is expected to benefit stakeholders in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, ensuring smoother operations and contributing to India’s export growth.
