• Company Registration: Each company must register separately with BEE, submitting an application and the prescribed fee.
• Brand Registration: Each brand under a company must be registered individually.

2. Appliance Category Registration

• For every appliance or equipment category, a separate application and label security deposit are required.

3. Model Approval

• To obtain permission to affix labels on a specific model, submit an application with the label permission fee.
• No label can be affixed without prior written permission from BEE.

4. Label Display and Specifications

• Labels must display:
  • Unique Label Number
  • Appliance/Equipment Name
  • Brand Name
  • Model Number
  • Energy Performance Parameter
  • Label Year
  • Rated Capacity
  • Star Level or Endorsement
  • Validity
  • Country of Origin
  • Serial Number (if applicable)
• Labels must be visible, legible, durable, and include a QR code with embedded information.
• Labels should be affixed to each unit and packaging at the point of sale.

5. Compliance and Renewal

• Permission to affix labels is valid for three years and must be renewed before expiry.
• If energy performance standards are revised, permittees must submit a self-declaration confirming compliance and update labels accordingly.
• Permittees must ensure all products sold have current, compliant labels.

6. Fees

• Fees for registration, label security deposit, and label permission are prescribed under the BEE (Labelling Fees) Regulations, 2025.

Process for Obtaining BEE NOC

1. Prepare Documentation: Gather all required documents, including company and brand details, product specifications, and test reports.
2. Submit Application: Apply online or as per the Operational Manual, paying the necessary fees.
3. Scrutiny by BEE: BEE reviews applications within 30 working days. Discrepancies must be resolved within 60 days, or the application is cancelled.
4. Grant of Permission: Upon approval, BEE registers the company, appliance, and model, and grants permission to affix uniquely numbered labels.
5. Renewal: Apply for renewal before the expiry of the current permission.
