India starts issuing Certificate of origin (CoO) through online Mode only

Issuance of Preferential Certificate of Origin through Common Digital Platform in India

 

The office of the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued a Trade Notice No 34 dtd: 20.09.2019 which directs all Exporters/Trade Members to obtain the Certificate of Origin (CoO) under the FTAs/PTAs through the recently launched online Digital Platform http://coo.dgft.gov.in.

It shall be a single point access for all FTAs/PTAs, for all designated CoO issuing agencies and for all export products. It shall be an electronic paperless, contactless platform for applying for CoO. The earlier Pre-Printed CoO stationary is to be done away with. The registration on this platform for Exporters shall be done against their IEC. Digital signature would be required for the purpose of electronic verification in the application process.
