DGFT Launches API Integration and Bulk Upload Facility for eBRC Self-Certification

Dated: 08.07.2025

Following the success of the pilot project introduced via Trade Notice No. 33/2023-24, DGFT has now rolled out two powerful enhancements to the eBRC (electronic Bank Realisation Certificate) system, making export realization compliance faster, scalable, and fully digitized.

These upgrades are effective from 20th August 2024 and mark a major milestone in automating the export documentation lifecycle.

Key Enhancements Introduced

1. Bulk Upload Functionality

Exporters can now:

  • Generate multiple eBRCs in one go by uploading a spreadsheet
  • Map IRM (Inward Remittance Message) details with relevant Shipping Bills and Invoices
  • Follow the prescribed format to comply with business rules and validation checks

Benefits:

  • Eliminates repetitive manual data entry
  • Reduces errors and saves time
  • Greatly beneficial for high-volume exporters

2. API Integration for Real-Time eBRC Management

DGFT has introduced Application Programming Interface (API) connectivity for exporters using ERP, accounting, or invoicing software.

This allows:

  • Real-time retrieval of IRM/ORM data
  • Direct certification requests and automated matching
  • Secure authentication through API credential management

Requirements:

  • Exporters must register online through their IEC holder account
  • Full control to activate/deactivate API consumers
  • Enhanced data protection and authorization controls

Support, Awareness & Learning Tools

  • User Manuals and FAQs are now available on the DGFT portal (Learn > Application Help > eBRC)
  • These documents detail:
    • Purpose code alignment
    • eBRC validation logic
    • Data field explanations

DGFT Regional Authorities will also conduct outreach programs to help exporters understand and adopt these new tools.
