DGFT Updates List of Authorized Banks for Gold and Silver Imports for FY 2025-26

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry has issued Public Notice No. 01/2025-26, dated 3rd April 2025, updating the list of banks authorized by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to import gold and silver during the financial year 2025โ€“26.

Updated List of Authorized Banks

Banks Authorized to Import Both Gold and Silver (Valid from 01.04.2025 to 31.03.2026):

  1. Axis Bank Limited
  2. Bank of India
  3. Federal Bank Limited
  4. IDFC Bank Limited
  5. Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited
  6. ICICI Bank Limited
  7. IndusInd Bank Limited
  8. Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited
  9. Karur Vysya Bank Limited
  10. Punjab National Bank
  11. RBL Bank Limited
  12. State Bank of India
  13. Yes Bank Limited

Banks Authorized to Import Only Gold:

  1. Indian Overseas Bank
  2. Union Bank of India

Significance of the Amendment

  • This update has been made in Appendix 4B of the Handbook of Procedures, 2023, in exercise of powers under Paragraphs 1.03 and 2.04 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), 2023.
  • The revised list is effective from 1st April 2025 and remains valid until 31st March 2026.
  • It helps importers, bullion dealers, and financial institutions operate within the legal framework set by the RBI and DGFT.
