DGFT Amends SION A-290: Updates on Import Norms for Metformin HCL

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, has issued Public Notice No. 37/2025-26, dated 11th December 2025, announcing significant amendments to the Standard Input Output Norms (SION) A-290. โ€‹ These changes pertain to the Unit of Measurement (UOM) for import items associated with the export product “Metformin HCL.” โ€‹

  1. Export Product: Metformin HCL โ€‹
    • Quantity: 1 kg โ€‹
  2. Amended Import Items and UOM:
    • Dicyanodiamide: The existing quantity of 0.567 kg/kg has been amended to 0.567 Kg. โ€‹
    • DMF (Dimethylformamide): The existing quantity of 0.37 kg/kg has been amended to 0.37 Kg. โ€‹
