DGFT

Dated: 06.08.2026

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, has officially announced an extension for the submission of online applications for Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) allocations under the India-United Kingdom Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) for the calendar year 2026.

Background

The India-UK CETA is a significant trade agreement designed to enhance economic cooperation and facilitate smoother trade flows between India and the United Kingdom. As part of this agreement, TRQs are allocated to eligible applicants, allowing them to import specified quantities of goods at reduced tariff rates.

Key Update: Extension of Application Deadline

In response to multiple representations from trade and industry stakeholders, the DGFT has extended the last date for submission of online TRQ applications. The new deadline is now 9th August 2026. This extension provides additional time for businesses and individuals to complete their applications and benefit from the preferential tariff arrangements under the CETA.
